#08 Sabbath Musing
The communion of saints is the highest fellowship in this life, comprising in it all things for our comfort, good, and joy.
The communion of saints is the highest fellowship in this life, comprising in it all things for our comfort, good, and joy.
This holy fellowship is the Palace Beautiful for our earthly pilgrimage. No other group of people gives a foretaste of Heaven like those whom we been knitted to. Four with them our souls may rest and confide together in the one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
We commune with fellow believers for a mutual good. When we deal with our brothers and sisters we are to provoke them unto love and good works. This is a loving body which seeks the healing and strengthening of its fellow members. The Church cares for its own by discipline and edification; cleansing the old leaven from one another so we may embrace the new leaven of sincerity and truth.
Our communion brings the sweetest of joys. We are glad to go to the Lord’s house to see those who have been called by Him. In our brothers and sisters we may look upon the working of the salvation of the Lord. In their renewed hearts and minds we see the inner man as a mirror reflecting more and more the person of Jesus Christ. Our joy is found in those who will inhabit the Celestial City to worship the Lord.
