My Alabama Grandmother’s “Chicken Dumpling”

This is a recipe originally from my grandmother. She did not have much of a formal education. She started school in 1st grade and ended in 2nd. After her schooling, she went to help her family out in the fields, picking cotton from before the sunrise till after it set.
The recipe itself contains very little proper grammar, and wouldn’t be considered “complete” by today’s standards as well. Because of that, you may have to read between the lines understand what she is getting at. You will find that it contains the old style of cooking by feel, not be scientific “accuracy”.
I will put the picture of her handwritten recipe below and transcribe it beneath that. Here is the recipe:
Chicken Dumpling
Ingredients
3/4 Cup Buttermilk
[something] grease
3 Cups White Lily Self Rising Flour (may need more)
Recipe
Sift flour.
Tear off 2 pieces of wax paper to roll yawr dowe on.
Ever time yaws cut dumplings out. Sprinkle with flour
Set yawr stock aiede until you make. Out all yawr dumpling,
Then put stock. Back on yawr the stove.
Get it to boiling Real Good, then drop in a Layer of dumpling sprinkling. With Black pepper.Ever time yan put in a Layer of dumpling.
